Out of the Reading Rut

Friday, May 2, 2014

You all know how it is to be in a reading rut... It's a wasteland of novels read to completion but thrown away in an unloved state, no doggy ears, highlights, or watermarks where tears hit the pages mar their features.

Well, that was me this past two or three weeks. And I was DYING. Let me tell you. I knew I needed just a couple good reads to get me out of my funk, and I found them. So I am here to share it with all of you who find yourselves in reading ruts.

These are great books to help you get out of your reading ruts.

Sea of Shadows by Kelley Armstrong is a wonderfully creepy fantasy novel that involves the bond of twins and the small but endearing romances that pop up along a dangerous journey.

Compulsion by Martina Boone (not released until October, but you can find it on Edelweiss for an ARC) is a charming, eerie, Southern Gothic tale involving young love, loss, and an ancient curse that encompasses more than just the place where Barrie's mother grew up.

I hope that these will help you out of your reading ruts, if that is where you find yourself!

What books have helped you out of reading ruts?
