Summer Reading Challenge hosted by Katie's Book Blog

Thursday, May 1, 2014
I am happy to announce that I will be taking part in the Summer Reading Challenge hosted by Katie's Book Blog! There's still a little time to go sign up! And if you do, here's the post where you can let her know how many books you will be reading. She has prizes and giveaways and a lot of really cool stuff going on with this challenge, so make sure to check it out!

I have decided I will read a total of 15 books between May 1st and September 1st. Hopefully, I will read more, but I want to get a lot of writing done this summer, so I really don't know how much time that will take away from my reading/blogging schedule. 15 books may sound measly to you, but maybe I can up the ante later on down the road.

These are the books I'm looking forward to reading (I may or may not get to them... it all depends on what ARCs I receive).

  1. You haven't read Daughter of Smoke and Bone yet? You're in for a treat. That was one of my 5-star reviews (and I don't have a lot of those). I really need to get going on the rest of the series... while the first book is still fresh in my mind!

I'm tempted to do a challenge like this just to help encourage me to get through some of my TBR pile. But I also don't need the extra self-imposed pressure.

    1. I know... I know.... It's been in my TBR pile for a while, so I decided that I will no longer allow them to stay unread. I'm excited about it. I hear they are fantastic.

You can set your goal as low or as high as you want, so that takes at least a little bit of the pressure off, in my opinion. :)

    2. I'm reading book 2 of the Smoke and Bone series at the moment. I'm having a hard time getting into it. I think it is because I'm not digging the Karou's other world.

  2. I am currently trying to read 100 books this year, this challenge might help me out!

    1. Yeah, I love this because it will definitely keep me reading throughout the summer if I have a definitive goal. :)

  3. Ooh! I hope you are able to get a lot of writing done this summer. Good luck on your reading goal.
P.S. Once you read Shatter Me you won't be able to stop until you have finished the entire series. I really recommend getting the novellas or at least the first one - Destroy Me because it has so much insight and FEELS.

    1. Thank you! I'm hoping to knock out the second half of my book and then go back and edit two of my other books.
That's what I hear about Shatter Me! I hear her prose is completely entrancing, and you can't stop until you're done! I'm so excited! :)
