Ten Books That Will Be In My Beach Bag This Summer

Monday, June 2, 2014

As always, Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely ladies at The Broke and the Bookish.

Since I am currently in the middle of my western vacation, I knew this post would be perfect for me to fill out! While I am not at a beach (sadly), I am traveling with a stack of books in my suitcase. When I am on vacation, I normally pick books that make me feel all the things. On occasion, I will choose a book that will just tear my heart up and leave it in pieces (but in a completely good way). Usually, I stay away from fantasy or magical books. I'm not sure why but I always crave stories that feel tangible when I'm out on the road. That leads me to fill my bag with realistic and contemporary romance. With that being said, here are my top ten books that will be in my metaphorical beach bag this summer!

1. Paper Towns by John Green
2. Let's Get Lost by Adi Alsaid

3. How to Love by Katie Cotugno
4. Side Effects May Vary by Julie Murphy
5. Life by Committee by Corey Ann Haydu

6. The Distance Between Us by Kasie West
7. Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour

8. We Were Liars by e. lockhart
9. Lies My Girlfriend Told Me by Julie Anne Peters
10. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

What is in your summer beach bag? Comment below! (I may be slow to respond because my internet access is sketchy, but I will always check!)

  1. Awesome selection! I really need to read Fangirl, and Everything Leads to You looks like an amazing book.

  2. The first two look really interesting!

Right now I'm reading Splintered by A. G. Howard, and Twelve Impossible Things Before Breakfast by Jane Yolen. I've never read The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. There's also A Stretch of Loyalty by Jack Lewis Baillot, The Peculiars by Maureen Doyle McQuerry, Eli the Good by Silas House, and a few books based on the Robin Hood tales.

    1. I love road trip books! I definitely recommend them!
