As always, Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely ladies at The Broke and the Bookish.
Today we are going to be talking about the awesome books that you would re-read!
1. Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas
I first read this series about a year and a half ago when only Throne of Glass was out. Let me tell you the wait has been killer. I've read every single book in the series (including the novellas) twice since then.
2. The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini
I have only reread half of this series, but honestly, the entire series is worth a reread. Excellent writing and superb world building will have you coming back and revisiting this story for years to come.
3. Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
This is probably the most rereadable series ever in print in my opinion. I have reread the first two, but I only just read the series for the first time a few years ago. Beautiful in every way and there is no doubt that you will cry every time you reread the series.
4. The Song of the Lioness Quartet by Tamora Pierce
I've reread this entire series maybe 3 or 4 times. I always tell fantasy lovers to read anything by her. Her books are rich and beautiful and leave room for the reader to fill in the world building without actually reminding the reader of the gaps in the setting. I read this back when I was an 8th grader and now I'm in my post grad studies, and I still love them!
5. The Mark of the Lion trilogy by Francine Rivers
These books are so beautiful in every stinkin' way. I don't know what kind of reader or person I would be without having read them. They changed me that much. She's the one who made me really want to write well. I've read this series 3 times all the way through and the first book on 5 separate occasions. This is a series that will stick with you till your dying day, it's so impacting.
6. The Mara Dyer series by Michelle Hodkin
I've reread the first one in the series, more out of necessity than anything, but this series is so good and twisty and spooky that it's a wonderful Halloween re-read.
7. Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon
As hard as it was for me to finish this first book, I've found that I've gone back and reread parts just to relive the beauty of the scene or story. This series is a gem of historical and adventure that any historical fiction reader would love to relive time and time again.
8. Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover
I first got this book the day it came out and I read very late into the night and finished it within 18 hours. Not only did I devour it like a starving crazy woman, but I loved every moment of it so much that I've reread it twice since then. I find the book a good reminder for me that love can sometimes be ugly and very difficult. I generally love dreaming about a Disney-fied version of love, but this zaps me back to reality a bit more.
9. Defy series by Sara B. Larson
Granted this is the only book out in the series so far, but I've read it twice. Unlike a lot of other bloggers, I really enjoyed this book, and I can't wait to get my hands on the sequel Ignite in the coming months (hopefully as an ARC).
10. The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen
So let me tell you a little about this book. It was probably one of my top 5 favorite reads of the year, and that's really hard list to get on. This was a kickass novel. I don't know how else to put it. It had everything from awesome world building to excellent and complex characters with ulterior motives, so of course I was going to reread this book. I had the worst book hangover that I had to read it again about a month after I read it for the first time.
So what do you think? Do you agree with some of these on my list or do you have some that you would add to it? Let's help each other with awesome book recommendations!
