As always, Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely ladies at The Broke and the Bookish

I feel like I am constantly naming off these books in practically ever top ten I do, so if this seems redundant, I apologize, but these are the top ten books I've read in 2014.

  4. So many awesome reads on your list. I can't wait for the sequels of The Queen of the Tearling and The Kiss of Deception! They can't come soon enough. I agree with you on Outlander, a great book but can be hard to read. I can't wait to read the rest of those ones as well. :)

  7. Oh I completely agree about The Assassin's Blade! I totally underestimated it because, novellas? Pfft. I think it shouldn't be a collection of novellas. IT'S LIKE A WHOLE BOOK, GOSH DARN IT. *sobs because of feels* I was really traumatised by that book, I tell you.
OH! I just borrowed Queen of the Tearling from the library! I'm so excited!!

  8. Ohh, yes, I completely agree with you about Heir of Fire! It's been about a month (maybe a bit less) since I read it, and NOTHING is holding my attention as much as that book did. I keep thinking about the entire series, it just won't leave my mind! I'm kinda terrified to do a reread as I don't want to become even MORE obsessed! Oh how I WISH book #4 was on the way, like, tomorrow! :D

  9. I'm very excited to read all of these!! :D

The Kiss of Deception: I pre-ordered this one and I still haven't read it. :( Soon though! It sounds fantastic.
Maybe Someday: I just got this this week for a Secret Santa present, and I'm really looking forward to reading something by Colleen Hoover
The Assassin's Blade: I own this, and read the first novella, but it couldn't hold my attention as I was disappointed by Throne of Glass. I own Crown of Midnight though, and I've been told I'll love that one even though I didn't enjoy ToG. Hopefully I'll love it and read TAB after CoM.
Stolen Songbird: Another one I've heard great things about...I think I'll put this on hold at the library.
Ruin and Rising: I just started Shadow and Bone yesterday and I own Siege and Storm, so I really hope I love this series.
The Winner's Curse: The only book on this list I've actually read! I enjoyed it, but not as much as the majority of people...I have an eARC of The Winner's Crime then, and my friend loved it even more than The Winner's Curse, so I'm looking forward to reading it.
Ugly Love: I've heard great things about this one, and it's on my TBR. :)
Outlander: Argh! THIS SOUNDS FANTASTIC. *grabby hands*
The Queen of the Tearling: I've heard mixed things about this one, but it still intrigues me and is on my mental TBR.
Heir of Fire: See The Assassin's Blade.

Thanks for sharing a wonderful list, Amanda. :)

    1. Ah You have to read Kiss of Deception! AMAZING! and Maybe Someday is an excellent pick for Secret Santa.
Ahhhh you didn't like Throne of Glass? Then you DEFINITELY need to read Crown of Midnight. That's where it picks up for people who didn't care for the first book. Then you should go back and read Assassin's Blade. I generally recommend people read the prequel novellas after Crown of Midnight. They're more invested in the characters that way.

Stolen Songbird is fantastic and a MUST READ, and I must know what you think about the Grisha trilogy when you're done!

I need to read the WInner's Crime but I don't have an ARC. :((((

I will tell you one thing about Queen of the Tearling. I thought it was FANTASTIC, but I do think they mismarketed it. It's an adult book and not YA lit. It has a very Game of Thrones feel, so it's not going to have the normal cadence a YA novel would. It's a bit slower at times, but to me, it was one of my favorites. I would really be interested in your thoughts if you do read it!

      Thanks for commenting!
