  1. Can I contribute Half Bad by Sally Green? You know, 'cause it's filled with witches and powers and cool stuffs like that. (And you have just made me want to read Crimson Bound so badly.... Hurry up and get published!!!)

    1. RIGHT? I love HoF!

I actually liked Fire MUCH better than Graceling. I had a number of problems with Graceling but Fire was the best and then I absolutely abhorred Bitterblue. I refuse to believe in its existence.

  4. *strokes list* Yes, beautiful. I'll admit though that I haven't read ALL of them... BUT I've read the important ones! Those being Shatter Me, Crimson Bound, Heir of Fire, Shadow and Bone, ACOTAR, and Eragon.

By the way, I'm being continually reminded by your blog that I need to finish the Eragon series :P Thanks a lot Amanda!

PS: did you finish ACOTAR?? We must discuss!!!

    1. hahah. I just really loved the Inheritance Cycle. It was only the second series that I read that really delved into the classical high fantasy tropes (the first being LOTR) so it has a special place in my heart! :)

  5. I'm so ashamed to say that I haven't read Heir of Fire. I see it mentioned so much, and as a fantasy fan I want to read it. But I never do. I'm going to put it on hold at the library for more motivation to read it. I love the rest of your list, too! Some favorites and some that I need to add to my TBR on there!

  6. Nice choice of topic! Let's see... Aside from the usual suspects (Harry Potter, etc.), some of my favourite magic books are The Magic Thief by Sarah Prineas, Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor, Liesl & Po by Lauren Oliver, and Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine. Oh, and Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones! Can't forget that one.

    1. Yeah I felt like Harry Potter was a given, so I decided not to add that one. Daughter of Smoke and Bone and Ella Enchanted and Howl should have definitely been on my list too! Those are such excellent books!

  7. I love your list but I would have to add The Burning Sky onto your list. If you love magic you should check it out if you haven't yet!

  8. I HAVE STOLEN SONGBIRD! I just won it and I'm soooo excited. ^_^ I also love Sarah J Maas (of course) and Shatter Me. I totally don't read a lot of magical books, which is odd, because I do so love it, but I guess I'd put Half Bad on my list! I LOVE HALF BAD.
