I'm Back!

After a couple months, yes, I am back.

So much has happened over the course of this summer, it's almost hard to put into words. So this will be a time for me to tell you exactly what happened and what to expect in the future.

Two weeks after the end of the spring semester, my mother was admitted into the hospital and diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. After the initial freak out and drama, we began trying to fight it but she had lesions everywhere... like 5 spots on her brain, a large lesion on her lung, which eventually multiplied into other areas like the other lung, abdomen, shoulder, bone... needless to say, it was a very stressful summer and ended in the tragic loss of my mom.

She died at the end of July, and it's been some of the roughest weeks I've ever experienced. My sisters and I planned the funeral service, I wrote the obituary and eulogy, I picked up her ashes from the funeral home... the list goes on.

Understandably, I chose to take a break, albeit one that lasted longer than I anticipated. But I've decided to come back. I like the community and mostly, I love the books part.

This semester is going to be super busy because I will be working on my thesis for my Masters program (which is a YA novel), readying a term paper to present at a national conference in Seattle come April, and of course school, and working a part time job. It's going to be a full schedule for me, but I really want to stay busy right now, and I think this would be a good way to do that.

I will ask for your indulgence as I get into the swing of things. I will say that a few things will be changing.

I won't be doing Top Ten Tuesdays every week, I don't think. I'm actually thinking that I will use that day to write creatively if I have content. I've realized that I have so much to say, especially after this summer, so some might be a bit personal, but it's going to be creative writing. But you will still see a TTT randomly, especially starting out until I figure out what I want to post first--it's going to take a bit of time to process it all.

Wednesdays will be the cool Hello Love meme that I created, and Mondays and Thursdays will be my major review days, while Fridays are my discussions post days.

So I guess, not a lot will change, but I think I'm going to be a lot more lax and laid back about the blog, so to me, the pressure is going to be off, and I'm just going to do my thing while I share my love of books.

Thanks for sticking around through the hiatus! I'm glad to be back and I hope this next semester will be a new chapter for me.

And, Seattle will be fun (albeit a bit rainy in April with possibly some patches of sun.)
Wishing you all the best in school, and especially that thesis/book of yours!
